The laboratories at the Civil Engineering department are designed to provide students with all facilities for carrying out the practical oriented studies and research projects of students.
To test several properties of material like ductility, surface roughness, malleability, hardenability etc.
To carry out Torsion, Hardness & Impact tests and determine various moduli, hardness numbers and impact energy.
To conduct all quality control tests on cement, aggregates and concrete (Fresh and hardened). Students learn the standard procedure to test the quality of building materials in line with the corresponding IS codes.
To know the practical behavior of the physical structures like beams.
To understand and practice the basic principles of surveying by conducting field exercises using a wide spectrum of surveying equipment
To give solid understanding of data collection methods including surveying, profile leveling, contouring, compass traversing, laying out of curves, base line measurement and triangulation.
To train the students in the field of testing of soils to determine their physical, index and engineering properties
To Experience with the measurement of geotechnical laboratory parameters
Ability to design and conduct experiments as well as analyze and interpret data
To know and classify the pavement material into different group depending upon their physical and strength or stability characteristics. The various tests conducted on bitumen to find the properties and results can help in designing the pavements.
Help students comprehend the technical skills regarding the mix design through marshal stability test.
Enhance the knowledge of the students about the physical, chemical, and bacteriological parameters of drinking water and wastewater as per standards
Gain knowledge in various parameters of water and quality control.
